The Artist

I’m Rishika Sahgal, the artist behind Reveario by Rishika Sahgal—a contemporary abstract practice rooted in memory, resilience, and transformation. Based in Kanpur, India, I create works that are deeply personal yet universal, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and connect through emotion.

The Inspiration

The name Reveario is a tribute to my grandmother, who first awakened my love for art. It draws from “reverie”—a dreamlike state—and “aura”, the unseen energy we all carry. For me, Reveario is not just a name but a philosophy: art as both sanctuary and luxury, healing and beauty.

The Journey

My practice has been shaped by both personal experience and cultural immersion. Surviving the 2013 Uttarakhand floods was a life-altering event that continues to influence how I think, feel, and create—teaching me to embrace both fragility and resilience.

Equally transformative were my years abroad. London holds a special place in my journey—it was the city that challenged me, expanded my perspective, and pushed me beyond my comfort zone as both an artist and an individual. Alongside London, the artistic heritage of Barcelona and Paris enriched my vision, showing me how art, architecture, and history can exist in harmony. These cities deepened my belief that art is not just expression—it is a timeless encounter.

Yet, no matter the scale or medium, every piece is part of a larger story—interconnected fragments, like pearls strung together into a necklace.
